This is a view looking south on 10th Street at I Street. The Modesto Bank Building is at the left, with the clock tower. In the middle of the intersection is Rogers Fountain, where horses and people could stop to refresh themselves during Modesto's 100° summer days. When traffic became too heavy, the memorial fountain was moved to Courthouse Park. This scene is probably early 1900s - the streets are still dirt. | ||
