Modesto Snapshots: 1950s Downtown

1950s Downtown, 10th Street between J and K - the same block that now houses the new City-County Building. The Hotel Hughson, far right, is gone, as is the Woolworth's building and everything inbetween. At the left, where the Montgomery Wards sign is and the Strand Theatre marquee, now sits the 18-screen Brenden Theatres building. There is only foot traffic here now - no cars and no history.
